Moralis Releases Moralis Nitro

Table of Contents

We’re thrilled to announce the official release of Moralis Nitro! With the release of Moralis Nitro, Moralis just got even better!

Introducing Moralis Nitro

After nearly a month of rigorous beta testing, we are now ready to release Moralis Nitro to the wider public!

Moralis Nitro takes Moralis’ performance and scalability to a brand new level. From now on, all new servers will be Moralis Nitro servers by default. Specifically, Moralis Nitro brings substantial improvements across the board – boosting Moralis’ speed, robustness, and scalability even further.

Moralis Nitro comes with a roughly 10x increase to the speed, scalability, and robustness of Moralis. We cannot wait for you to experience the improvements yourself. So, what are you waiting for?

Moralis Nitro Features

Moreover, the Moralis Nitro update also brings a number of fundamental improvements to how Moralis works. For example, Moralis introduces the Core Services plugin, which comes automatically installed on every server. The Core Services plugin will handle all the heavy lifting for you when syncing historical or real-time blockchain data into your database. Moreover, servers now have one User, one Session and one Role right from their creation – which you can think of as a system-level user that syncs all the data into your server.

In addition to this, the Moralis Nitro update brings with it quick and non-blocking transaction and sync functionality. This means the address synchronization process can be offloaded into worker nodes, capable of processing this in parallel.

Moralis Nitro also introduces a breaking change in that it removes TokenBalance and NFTOwners tables. Most of our users already use the Moralis.Web3API to fetch token balances or NFT owners. As such, we are removing these tables from the database, and developers can instead fetch this data via API.

Moreover, Moralis Nitro also brings with it improved default settings. Previously, Moralis synced all user transactions into the database whenever a user would sign in. This led to issues whenever many different users were logged in and using historical sync. Now, with Moralis Nitro, only 50 user transactions for each category – such as native, token, or NFT – and chain are loaded. It’s possible to adjust this in the server admin settings.

Moralis Nitro also brings with it smart contract event filters. Additionally, the Moralis Nitro update also introduces that wei numbers are stored as decimal numbers, and not only strings. This makes it dramatically easier to sort and compare the decimal value of wei numbers.

Moralis’ “10x” Update

The Moralis Nitro upgrade is all about 10x-ing. Specifically, Moralis Nitro introduces a 10x improvement to the speed, robustness, and scalability of Moralis. Moralis was already the most capable Web3 development platform – but with Moralis Nitro’s massive performance increase, the gap just got even bigger!
