Covalent – Official Partner to the 2021 Moralis Hackathon

It’s with great joy we are able to announce that Covalent is joining the 2021 Moralis Hackathon as an official partner! Covalent comes as the latest in a string of exciting partnerships for the Moralis Hackathon, which will see devs face off and compete for a total prize pool of $50,000! If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for the Moralis Hackathon today!

”We are hugely excited to be a partner to the 2021 Moralis Hackathon. Ivan and his team have really built something special in Moralis, which has great easy-of-use and amazing utility,” said Ganesh Swami, CEO of Covalent. ”We’re certain the community is going to love this hackathon.”

”It doesn’t get better than to have Covalent as a partner for the hackathon. What they’re doing with big-data technologies is really fascinating, and we couldn’t be happier to have them be a part of the 2021 Moralis Hackathon. This is great for Moralis, for Covalent, and especially for the community,” added Ivan on Tech, Founder of Moralis.

As mentioned before, the 2021 Moralis Hackathon will run until the 15th of June, 2021. After this deadline, the hackathon will be closed for new contributions, and a jury will evaluate the entered projects. After careful consideration, the jury will settle on three winning projects. The total prize pool of $50,000 will be divided amongst the three winners. Specifically, the team that comes first will receive the 2021 Moralis Hackathon’s grand prize of $30,000. The project that comes in second place will receive $15,000, and the team that comes in third will be awarded $5,000.

Moralis is an innovative backend infrastructure solution for those looking to build Web3 applications or dApps. Specifically, Moralis provides a free, fully managed, and infinitely scalable backend.

Hackathon Example Use Cases for Covalent

Those who enroll in the 2021 Moralis Hackathon are entirely free to build whatever they dream of building. With that said, however, we recognize that it can be challenging to get inspiration for what to build in the hackathon. This is especially true with all the many exciting use cases you can build a dApp for using Moralis. Nevertheless, as we highly encourage participants to use our partners’ tech in building their project, we’ve prepared some help.

Specifically, existing use cases that already utilize Covalent include this impressive list of projects building with Covalent. Additionally, Covalent provides a Project Showcase that highlights some parts of the growing Covalent ecosystem. For those more technically inclined, Covalent also uses Replit and offers code templates through there.

What is Covalent?

Covalent leverages big-data technology to create meaning from hundreds of billions of data points, delivering actionable insights to investors and allowing developers to allocate resources to higher-utility goals within their organization. As such, Covalent has set its sights on becoming a leading blockchain data analytics company.

Instead of painstakingly sourcing data from a small handful of chains, Covalent aggregates information from dozens of sources, including nodes, chains, and data feeds. The Covalent API then sources end-users with individualized data by wallet, including current and historical investment performance across all types of digital assets. Most importantly, Covalent returns this data rapidly and consistently, incorporating all relevant data within one API interface.
