Moralis Magazine #28 – Moralis Avalanche Hackathon Results

We (the Moralis DAO) support and use the most robust and powerful Web3 framework available.

Moralis is a powerful Web3 framework, but together as the Moralis DAO, we are so much more than that. We want to help you level up your developments by giving you the tools and components you need to build your applications quickly.

Celebrate with Us, and Prepare for What is Next

Moralis has just completed its largest event to date. With the help of Avalanche and a long list of partners and VC investors (see below), we have successfully completed our $500k hackathon!

While the end of such a great community event is bittersweet, there is no need to be sad. Moralis is not going anywhere, and even if you did not win a prize in this most recent event, we are here to ensure that you are accomplishing your goals and dreams (cause that is to really win) when you are building with Moralis.

What are you building with Moralis? Are you stuck? Reach out to us with questions and comments. Who knows, we may even respond to you directly in a future magazine!

The event took place for over more than two hours, while our judging panel tirelessly reviewed the ten finalists, each skillfully presenting their dApps, one at a time.

Here are the final results:

Third Place: Astrocave Academy https://astrocave.vercel.app/

Second Place: Snowflakes Network https://snowflakes.network/

First Place: Musing https://musing.io/

Winners of the hackathon bounties (awarded by participating partners) will be announced later this week.

This Week’s Challenge (Extended)

This week’s Moralis weekly challenge centers around the Web3UI kit, a select set of open source Moralis tools available to help complete your UI experience in a professional and visually pleasing manner.

The Web3UI kit is similar to the Ethereum boilerplate (https://github.com/ethereum-boilerplate/ethereum-boilerplate). As such, it’s designed to be customized to suit your specific needs and desires. The code for both is open-source, and outside contribution to both projects is encouraged!

Now, to win the challenge, which is currently active, participants are asked to use the Web3UI kit as much as possible. Try taking advantage of the user login scripts and other functions you will find. Other than incorporating the kit, your creativity is key! May the best dApp win!

Winner to receive an exclusive NFT from the Bored Moralis Mage collection: https://opensea.io/collection/boredmoralismages.

Each of you is part of something extraordinary, and this magazine is all about putting the power of Moralis to work for you!

We are all Moralis and are here to support each other. If you are not already active in the Moralis DAO Discord, today’s the day to make your introduction.

Inside the Moralis DAO Discord, you’ll find a stacked deck of Moralis experts and fellow mages. Post your projects and get feedback from the community, participate in coding challenges, and stay updated with the latest Moralis features and updates.

Moralis Game Builders: New Content!

If you have been following our Moralis Expert Ash, then you already know that at Moralis, we develop tools for game builders. Every week, we work hard to find the best ways to integrate Web3 utility into games today!

Those who are building with us know that the metaverse is not something that we are waiting to appear before us; it is something we are actively building.

This week, Ash shows us how to build, deploy, and test NFT game smart contracts. Make sure to take advantage of these tips, which you can use in any game engine (Unity, Phaser, etc.). Buidlers, ready your mechanical keyboards; it’s time to code!

What you do with the tools and expertise provided is up to you, and we hope this magazine helps spark some ideas.

Thanks for reading! We hope you found this week’s Moralis Magazine useful.

Keep BUIDLING!

See you next time 💚
